At all MAPA meets, awards will be given for Best of Show and Favorite Plate. Longest distance traveled and ribbons for all displays.

October 2022 Awards

The Mid-America Plate Association held its Fall meet on October 15 in Joliet IL.  The meet was attended by 41 ALPCA members with attendees from 5 different states and plenty of donuts were available. Jim Dowell won the long distance award traveling 1,140 miles from Lake Mary Florida. Favorite plate was an Illinois pre-state from Mike Naughton. Jason Stone won the best display award for his fish and game warden plates.

   

 

August 2022 Awards

The Mid-America Plate Association held its Summer meet on August 20 in Wauconda IL.  The meet was attended by 29 ALPCA members with attendees from 3 different states and plenty of donuts were available. Dale Ashe won the long distance award traveling 180 miles. Favorite plate was an Illinois 1970 Supreme Court from Brian Sawyer. Pat Settani won the best display award for his Georgia run.

   

 

April 2022 Awards

The Mid-America Plate Association held its Spring meet on April February 23 in Joliet IL.  The meet was attended by 28 ALPCA members with attendees from 4 different states and plenty of donuts were available. Michael Kuehn won the long distance award traveling from St. Louis Missouri. Favorite plate was an Illinois 1906 City of Chicago #1 from Mike Naughton. Al Matulis won the best display award for his 200,000 plates.

   

 

February 2022 Awards

The Mid-America Plate Association held its winter meet on February 26 in Peoptone IL.  The meet was attended by 47 ALPCA members with attendees from 5 different states. Breakfast pastries were served and then 20 pizzas were delivered for lunch. After lunch and the auction we had cake to celebrate 50 years of the club. Mike Glauboch won the long distance award traveling from Owensboro Kentucky. Favorite plate was an Indiana pre-state from Mike Naughton. Jason Stone won the best display award for his US Government display.

 

 

October 2021 Awards

The Mid-America Plate Association held its fall meet on October 16 in Joliet IL.  The meet was attended by 32 ALPCA members and 3 guests with attendees from 6 different states.  Jim Dowell won both the long distance award traveling from Lake Mary Florida and the first place plate award for his Illinois Local Bus Plate.  George Laverick won the best display award for his Illinois Dealer Plate display.

 

August 2021 Awards

The August meet of 2021 took place Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Wauconda. A total of 21 people were in attendance and there was a small assortment of donuts available. Best Display award went to Pat Settani for his Illinois low number plates. The Favorite Plate award went to Jason Stone for his Wisconsin tribal plate. The long distance award went to Chuck and CIndy Sakryd from Elyria Ohio.

 

 

April 2021 Awards


The April meet of 2021 took place Saturday, April 17, 2021, at Joliet. A total of 27 people were in attendance and there was a small assortment of individually wrapped snacks. Best Display award went to Tim O'Connor for his Pennsylvania enamel plates. The Favorite Plate award went to Al Matulis, for his 1964 #2 DC plate. The long distance award went to Tim O'Connor from Sayre Pennsylvania.


February 2021 Awards

The February meet of 2021 took place Saturday, February 27, 2021, at Peotone. A total of 39 people were in attendance and there was a small assortment of individually wrapped snacks. Best Display award went to Daryl Williams for his early 100 years of Illinois plates. The Favorite Plate award went to Al Matulis, for his 1964 #64 plate. The long distance award went to Bennett Sizer from Michigan.

 

February 2020 Awards

The February meet of 2020 took place Saturday, February 22, 2020, at Peotone. A total of 61 people were in attendance and there were plenty of breakfast food to go around. After a successful auction there were pizzas delivered for everyone. Best Display award went to Mike Dragas for his early 30's Illinois plates with toppers and frames. The Favorite Plate award went to Al Matulis, for his 1918 Indiana #7 plate. The long distance award went to John Willard from Philadelphia, a distance of 770 miles.
